6A home inspection is always a good idea when purchasing a home, but even for existing homeowners, a thorough home inspection can provide valuable information that could help save hundreds if not thousands of dollars later on.

Here’s some of the information that our home inspection reports provide:

Five Star Home Inspection Company Details
This includes my name, certifications, and contact info. Remember, my inspections include one free re-inspection, provided a list of repairs and receipts are provided and access is flexible.

Structural Analysis
This includes an inspection of walls, floors, foundations, supporting columns, ceilings, insulation, roof, crawl spaces, attic, and basement. High resolution digital photos of any defects/problem areas are included as well.

Plumbing Systems
Plumbing systems includes wastewater drainage, hot water equipment, chimneys, flues, vents, fuel/gas storage equipment, sump pumps, water supply piping, water/fuel shutoff and safety devices, taps and faucets, lawn sprinkler systems, on-site waste disposal systems, and solar water heating systems if any.

Gas & Electrical Systems
Inspections include an examination of the main electricity distribution panels, fuses, circuit breakers, auxiliary power distribution systems, GFCI’s, light fixtures, heat/smoke detectors, cable TV, telephone, polarity and grounding of all power outlets.  The report will include pics of any improper wiring.  We also use special instruments to detect any gas leaks around gas appliances such as fireplaces, stoves, and water heaters.

Insulation and Ventilation
Your home inspection report will detail the state of insulation and ventilation in attics and crawl spaces.

Appliances
Dishwashers, trash compactors, food waste disposal units, microwaves, ovens/cooktops, and refrigeration units.

Garage
An inspection of the garage is included in a home inspection.  We’ll look at garage doors, floor, walls, and ceilings. We’ll check to see if the garage has firewall separation (from the main house).

A home inspection is a good idea not only for home buyers, but for anyone interested in identifying any potential problems or hazards in their home.
