New Home InspectionIf you are thinking about building a new home, or are already in the process, Five Star Home Inspection has an inspection service for you.  Our framing to finish inspection is for homes currently or soon to be under construction, and can save you time, money, and future headaches!

Having worked in the construction and home inspection industries for over 35 years, I’ve seen a lot of things go wrong.  I won’t say that I have seen it all, but I would say I’ve seen enough.  All sales talk aside, if you are building a new home, having it inspected along the way is a no-brainer in my opinion.

Why Would I Need A Home Inspection If Everything Is New?

Brand new homes are not immune to serious and costly problems.  It does not always mean that your builder isn’t watching or doesn’t care.  I know a lot of home builders in Boise, and most of them do fantastic work.  However, sometimes materials or products fail, mistakes are made, and yes sometimes it boils down to simply poor workmanship that isn’t caught or is overlooked.

Some Of The Common Issues I Find When Inspecting New Homes In Boise & Surrounding Areas:

  • Warped siding from not enough room in the expansion joints
  • Missing insulation
  • Plumbing leaks
  • Rooms being out of square
  • Poor or faulty workmanship
  • Improper slopes/grading or water drainage

Although not common, I have discovered some serious problems, such as lack of structural integrity, when inspecting new homes.   Serious problems like these, if not discovered during the construction process, could require extremely costly repairs in the not so distant future.

Why A Framing To Finish Inspection Makes Sense

This type of inspection costs a bit more because it involves multiple inspections.   However, I’ll inspect your home through all phases of the construction process and make sure that everything is sure, straight, square, and just done right.  If and when any issues are discovered, they can be corrected before you take ownership or possession of the new home.

If you’ve recently moved into a new home, it’s still a great idea to schedule a home inspection.  Most home builders offer a 1 year warranty, so in the event that there is something that needs attention, the home builder should still cover the costs of making it right.
